Primary Function and Working Principle

• Function: To automatically pick up a pre-positioned cap, place it onto a filled container, and apply a pre-set, consistent torque to tighten it securely.

• Working Principle: The machine operates on a rotary indexing principle.

  1. Infeed: Containers are fed into the machine's starwheel via an inlet conveyor.

  2. Cap Placement: Caps are sorted and oriented by an optional cap sorter/elevator and are fed into the machine's cap chutes. At the first station, a cap is placed onto the container neck.

  3. Tightening: The indexed table rotates the container to one or multiple tightening stations. At each station, a motorized capping head descends, engages the cap, and rotates it. The head applies a specific, adjustable torque to ensure the cap is tightened to the exact specification without being over-tightened (which can damage the threads or the cap) or under-tightened (which can lead to leaks).

  4. Discharge: The securely capped container is then rotated to the outlet starwheel and discharged onto the conveyor for the next packaging step.
